SOS Children's Villages Morocco<strong>Dell</strong> continued our support this year of the SOS Children'sVillage in Casablanca, Morocco. SOS Children's Village providesa permanent home to children who have lost parents or are nolonger able to live with them. <strong>Dell</strong> originally donated computersto the organization in 2004 which are used to teach the childrendigital literacy skills. <strong>Dell</strong> employees continue to volunteer atthe center providing computer support and classroom training,and this year expanded computer training to women in thecommunity who help care for the children at the center.Computer Literacy Centre in Toronto<strong>Dell</strong> committed a grant to the Yonge Street Mission in Torontofor their Computer Literacy Centre. The Yonge Street Missionhas been meeting the needs of people living in poverty formore than 100 years by offering employment, computer accessand skills training, a food bank, meals, counseling, daycare,and health care services. Through <strong>Dell</strong>'s partnership with themission, The Computer Literacy Centre is equipped with technologyand tools needed to provide inner-city Toronto youth andcommunity members with the opportunity for hands-on experiencewith technology. In addition, employee volunteers overseeand assist with education and program operations. A curriculum-basedprogram offered to students in grades 4 th through12 th gives students a refurbished computer for their personaluse to maintain and enhance their new skills upon graduation.Digital Citizen Project Brazil<strong>Dell</strong> Brazil continues its support of the Digital Citizen Project, aprogram designed to teach digital literacy skills and provide jobtraining and advice to low-income children and teenagers inthe communities where <strong>Dell</strong> Brazil operates. More than half of<strong>Dell</strong> Brazil employees are involved in the program through theAdopt a Student program, in which <strong>Dell</strong> employees help supportthe cost of student training. The program teaches bothbasic and advanced computer skills, and has graduated morethan 4,000 students since it was founded in 2002.Institution Mokrohajska Internet AccessIn 2005, <strong>Dell</strong> contributed to the Institution Mokrohajska inBratislava, Slovakia. The institution provides dormitories,rehabilitation centers, educational facilities and recreationalactivities for youth and young adults (ages five to 27) who arephysically disabled. The institution serves as a residentialfacility for these individuals, and also houses orphaned childrenwith disabilities. Institution Mokrohajska is the only provider ofits kind in Slovakia. <strong>Dell</strong>'s funding provided help to allow theinstitution to build and equip a computer room for residents toaccess computers and technology. <strong>Dell</strong> provided computerequipment with Internet capabilities, Internet services andinformation technology support, as well as construction of thefully accessible facility.
