The status date is part of the trigger word and includes additionalerror/waring flags and 2-bit trigger mode.4.7 Integration of USBpix into the Frameworkof EUDET TelescopeWithin the research and development towards the International Linear Collider22 (ILC) the EUDET 23 JRA1 24 project has developed a high resolutiontelescope (hereinafter referred to as “EUDET telescope” or simply telescope).The EUDET project is an EU-funded infrastructure project which comes to aclose at the end of the year 2010. A follow-up project for advanced detectorresearch and development, AIDA 25 , has already started.The EUDET telescope is available for detector tests at beam tests at DESYand CERN. The telescope package comprises the telescope itself, trigger hardware,data acquisition software and analysis software.The EUDET telescope is shown in figure 4.5 . It consists of two arms, eachholding a maximum of 3 layers of MIMOSA 26 26 pixel detector. The deviceunder test (DUT) is placed in between these two arms. On each outside ofthe telescope arms, plastic scintillators can be attached to provide fast triggersignals. A maximum of 4 planes of plastic scintillators can be attached tothe trigger logic unit (TLU, see figure 4.6) to generate a beam trigger signal(coincidence of the trigger input signals) which is distributed to the MIMOSADAQ and the DUT DAQ. The TLU is the interface between the beam triggerscintillators, the MIMOSA DAQ (EUDRB, the EUDET data reduction board,see figure 4.7) and the DUT DAQ. Every DAQ is running a “producer” process 2722 http://www.linearcollider.org23 http://www.eudet.org24 http://www.eudet.org/e13/e2125 http://cern.ch/aida26 MIMOSA 26 is a monolithic pixel detector using CMOS technology [39].27 The USBpix producer is inherited from the producer base class provided by the EUDAQsoftware framework. The USBpix producer runs as a separate thread inside STcontrol.44
