DIRECTORS’RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENTThe Directors are required by the Companies Act, 1965 to prepare financial statements for each financial year whichhave been made out in accordance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards, International Financial ReportingStandards and the requirements of the Companies Act, 1965 so as to exhibit a true and fair view of the state ofaffairs of the Group and Company as at 31 December 2012 and of the results and cash flows of the Group andCompany for the financial year then ended.In preparing the financial statements, the Directors have:• Selected and applied the appropriate and relevant accounting policies on a consistent basis;• Made judgments and accounting estimates that are reasonable and prudent in the circumstances; and• Prepared the annual audited financial statements on a going concern basis.The Directors are responsible to ensure that the Group and the Company keep accounting records which disclosewith reasonable accuracy the financial position of the Group and the Company.The Directors also have the overall responsibilities to take such steps to safeguard the assets of the Group and forthe establishment, designation, implementation and maintenance of appropriate accounting and internal controlsystems for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities relevant to the preparation and fairpresentation of financial statements that are free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error.160
