It is the School’s intention tomaintain the highest program standards, thus insuring accreditation by the Joint Review Committee inRadiologic Technology (JRCERT) guaranteeing graduates their eligibility for examination by the AmericanRegistry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).School of Radiologic Sciences Purpose• Graduates will demonstrate competency to include problem solving and critical thinking skills in patientcare to assist in continually improving the health and well being of all people in the community they serve.• Graduates will have an understanding and professional appreciation for optimum radiation protection andMRI safety practices for patients, themselves and other health personnel.• Graduates will demonstrate professional behavior and effective communication skills with patients, thepublic, and all health personnel.• Graduates will demonstrate entry-level competency as a medical imaging professional.• Graduates will portray leadership skills, demonstrating initiative, effective communications, and teamworktraits.American Registry Radiologic Technologists - Principles of Professional ConductThese Principles are intended to serve as a guide by which Radiologic Technologists may evaluation theirprofessional conduct as it relates to patients, colleagues, other members of the medical care team, health careconsumers, and employers and to assist Radiologic Technologists in maintain a high level of ethical conduct.Principle 1Radiologic Technologists shall conduct themselves in a manner completive with the dignity and professionalstandards of their profession.Principle 2Radiologic Technologists shall provide services with consideration of human dignity and the needs of thepatient, unrestricted by consideration of age, sex, race, creed, social or economic status, handicap, personalattributes, or the nature of the health problem.Principle 3Radiologic Technologists shall make every effort to protect all patients from unnecessary radiation.Principle 4Radiologic Technologists should exercise and accept responsibility for independent discretion and judgment inthe performance of their professional services.7
