BELLIN COLLEGE CATALOG2011-12National Exam and State Licensing FeesAdditionally, there are a number of variable costs related to the National Council Licensure Examination forRegistered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) and State Registered Nurse (RN) licensing application that are not covered infees paid to <strong>Bellin</strong> <strong>College</strong>. This information is provided in the semester prior to graduation. See the VicePresident of Academic Affairs for current information.BSN-Additional Fees (as applicable)Challenge Exam FeeStudents who believe they have the prior knowledge to successfully complete a nursing course withoutparticipating in the day-to-day activities of that course may elect to challenge the course via a challenge exam.Students earn credit for prior learning for challenged courses successfully completed. The tuition charged isone-half the regular per-credit charge for that course. The challenge fee is nonrefundable and not applied totuition if the student fails the challenge. (Not eligible to 15 Month Option applicants.)Credit for Prior Learning Fee (CFPL)Students who wish to have knowledge and experience evaluated to determine if the course outcomes havebeen met by life experiences will pay a non-refundable fee of $50.00 upon each request for review. If credit isawarded, an additional $75 must be submitted to cover the cost of transcripting and processing.Audit FeeA student, who wishes to enroll in a <strong>Bellin</strong> <strong>College</strong> course or courses without receiving credit, may audit anygeneral education or nursing course, if the <strong>College</strong> administration determines there is space available. Thetuition charge for auditing a course is one-third the regular per-credit charge for that course.Orientation Make-Up FeeAttendance at all parts of an orientation is mandatory. Missed orientations require additional administrativestaff and faculty time for re-scheduling. A $100 fee is charged for make-up orientations.Rescheduling FeesA $100 fee is assessed for the rescheduling of mandatory activities such as (but not limited to) orientations, labtesting, and/or computer training. If a student is unsuccessful with their lab tests, they are allowed to re-takethe exam one time only and will be charged $100 to re-take the exam. All fees must be paid or paymentarrangements made prior to testing.BSN-Financial AidFinancial Aid PhilosophyThe primary responsibility for financing a college education rests with the student and his/her family. Thepurpose of the financial aid program is to assist those students who might not otherwise be able to afford acollege education by providing financial support. The purpose of the financial aid office is to help the studentlocate and receive all the financial resources for which he/she is eligible.General Financial Aid Information<strong>Bellin</strong> <strong>College</strong> freshman and sophomore students who take their general education courses at UWGB apply forand (if eligible) receive financial aid through UWGB.If general education courses are taken at an institution other than UWGB, the student must discuss his/herfinancial aid options with the <strong>Bellin</strong> <strong>College</strong> Financial Aid Office. During the junior and senior years at <strong>Bellin</strong><strong>College</strong>, all students may apply for and (if eligible) receive financial aid through <strong>Bellin</strong> <strong>College</strong>.33
