The focus ofcare is on individuals, families, communities, and vulnerable populations. Students explore the economic andpolitical factors that affect health care. The nursing role is developed with emphasis on health promotion andmaintenance, disease prevention, and illness management facilitated by health teaching and appropriate useof community resources. Critical reasoning is used to address current evidence-based practice andepidemiological processes.NUR 422 COMMUNITY AND PUBLIC HEALTH CLINICAL – 2 creditsCourse Description:This clinical course provides students with the opportunity to care for patients within community and publichealth settings.
