Asesor metodológico: Guerra Velásquez, M. 71 p.ABSTRACTThe research objective was to establish the effectiveness and tenosynovectomyepineurotomia in the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome. We performed a descriptivestudy, prospective, transversal, with a non-experimental design with a nonrandomsample of 60 patients diagnosed with carpal tunnel who attended the outpatient surgeryunit in the hand of the Central Hospital Dr. Urquinaona Maracaibo. The results were43.43% for persons who performed household tasks, 63.3% were female, age 40 to 49years represent about 52.63%, the most affected hand was right for both sexes with a43.49% and bilateral involvement was greater in females postoperative evolution ofsurgery at four (4) weeks the patients had a global recovery. The results in the surgicaltreatment were effective in healing (90%) improvement (10)% and there were norecurrences or complications.
