PRO: The Dallas Cowboys selected Anthony Hitchens in the fourth round (119th overall) of the 2014 NFL
Draft, adding a versatile linebacker to an already talented group. Hitchens stepped in as a rookie and played
in all 16 games with 11 starts as the injury bug hit the linebacking corps. Hitchens showed his value and versatility
as he played all three linebacker spots at various times through the season. He finished his rookie year
with 100 tackles - third on the team - making him the first rookie with a 100-tackle season since Roy Williams
(2002). With his experience and ability, Hitchens will return in 2015 as a frontrunner for one of the starting
linebacker spots.
• Started at middle linebacker in place of Rolando McClain (groin) in the come-from-behind win at St. Louis
(9/21) and led the team with a career-high 18 tackles along with his first career tackle for a loss and careerfirsts
at Jacksonville (11/9) in London.
• Posted 13 tackles and a stop for a loss in the comeback win at the N.Y. Giants (11/23) then finished second
