Robert Blackwell is in his 35th year in the<br />

Cowboys video department, and his 27th as the<br />

team’s Director of Coaching Video. Blackwell is<br />

responsible for acquisition and maintenance of the<br />

club’s vast digital video library of NFL and college<br />

games. He is also in charge of generating video and<br />

stats scouting reports on upcoming opponents for the<br />

coaching staff. Blackwell is responsible for the input of<br />

Dallas Cowboys game video and its conversion to<br />

iPads for coaches and players to review immediately<br />

after games. Since 1988, Blackwell has served as the<br />

A native of Garland, Texas (12/1/50), Blackwell<br />

earned his degree in communications from Stephen<br />

F. Austin State University, and later shot game films<br />

for Southern Methodist University’s football and basketball<br />

programs (1979-84).<br />

He and wife Diana live in Coppell, Texas. They<br />

have two children, Nate, who is the wide receivers<br />

coach for Coppell High School, and Lora, who is a<br />

sophomore at Stephen F. Austin State University and<br />

is a member of the LadyJacks softball team.<br />

PLAYERS 2014 SEASON<br />

Stephen Gagliardino became the club’s assistant<br />

video director in the spring of 2003 after spending<br />

the 2002 season as the department’s graduate<br />

assistant. He is responsible for shooting team practices<br />

and games, as well as logging and digitizing<br />

game files for the coaching staff.<br />

Gagliardino joined the Cowboys after spending<br />

the 2001-02 seasons in NFL Europe, where he handled<br />

the coaching video for the Scottish Claymores.<br />

He began his NFL career in 1995 as a ball boy with<br />

the Philadelphia Eagles when he was 16 years old,<br />

working training camp and game days at Veterans<br />

Stadium. He did that for four seasons before moving<br />

over to the Eagles video department in 1999, where<br />

he worked full time as an intern for three seasons<br />

(1999-2001) while finishing college and working in<br />

NFL Europe.<br />

A native of Newark, Del., Gagliardino (11/10/78)<br />

graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications.<br />

Sam Cromley enters his eighth season with the<br />

Dallas Cowboys and fifth as one of the team’s assistant<br />

video directors. His job duties include filming<br />

team practices and games, as well as logging and<br />

digitizing game films for the coaching staff. Cromley<br />

originally joined the organization in 2008 as a video<br />

assistant where he worked with both the Cowboys<br />

and the former Dallas Desperados of the Arena<br />

Football League where he was the team’s video<br />

director for its final season.<br />

He previously served as the assistant video coordinator<br />

at Texas Christian University from 2004-07<br />
