Coming off their bye week, the Dallas Cowboys
headed to New York to face the Giants. New York
opened with a 13-play, 80-yard touchdown drive
on its first possession, converting four third downs
in the process. The touchdown came on a threeyard
pass from Eli Manning to Odell Beckham, Jr.
Dallas answered with a 38-yard Dan Bailey field
goal, but Beckham struck again with a one-handed,
43-yard touchdown reception, giving the
Giants a 14-3 lead. The Cowboys answered on a
four-yard Jason Witten pass from Tony Romo. The
Giants drove down the field again and put the ball
in the end zone for their third first half touchdown
when Andre Williams punched the ball across the
goal line.
The Cowboys defense pitched a shut out in the
third quarter while earning a red zone takeaway
when Barry Church intercepted Manning and
returned it 45 yards to midfield. The interception
was the 23rd Manning has thrown against the
Cowboys in his career, the most of any team, and
it proved costly as Romo connected with Cole
Beasley on a 45-yard catch-and-run for a touchdown.
Dallas followed that score with a Dez
Bryant 31-yard touchdown catch to give them the
lead for the first time in the game. New York retook
the lead late in the fourth quarter, but Tony
Romo manufactured one of his patented fourth
quarter comebacks, hitting Dez Bryant with a 13-
yard strike in the back of the end zone for the
game-winning score. The win was Romo’s 23rd
career fourth quarter comeback victory, and it put
Dallas in a tie for first place in the NFC East.

The Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles
squared off on Thanksgiving day. The Eagles
took the first possession and capped it off with a
two-yard Mark Sanchez touchdown run. The
Eagles scored again after forcing a Dallas punt,
going 88 yards down the field in seven plays to
go up 14-0 on a Jordan Matthews 27-yard touchdown
reception from Sanchez. After a good kickoff
return by Lance Dunbar gave the team a
short field, Dallas capitalized with its own sevenplay
touchdown drive, punching the ball in on a
two-yard DeMarco Murray run. Tyrone Crawford
earned his first career sack, forcing a Sanchez
fumble in the process, but the Eagles recovered
the ball and converted a third-and-long, leading
to an eventual Cody Parkey 31-yard field goal.
Parkey booted two more tries through the
uprights from 22 and 21 yards out, giving the
Eagles a 23-7 halftime advantage.
In the second half, Jeremy Mincey pounced
on a LeSean McCoy fumble deep in Eagles territory,
but Dallas only added a 28-yard Dan
Bailey field goal to their total. The Eagles added
another Parkey 25-yard field goal and scored on
a McCoy 38-yard scamper to put the game out
of reach and claim sole possession of first place
in the NFC East with four games remaining.
