THE WAY TO GET RELIEF FROM THE WORLD<br />

Imam Moosa Kazim (a.s.) narrates that Hazrat Luqman (a.s.) advised his son that the<br />

world is a deep ocean that has drowned thousands. <strong>The</strong>refore, seek the way <strong>of</strong><br />

deliverance. Prepare the boat <strong>of</strong> piety and fill it with good deeds. Make contentment the<br />

sail <strong>of</strong> your boat. Make your wisdom the navigator, knowledge the guide and patience the<br />

anchor!”<br />

FUTILITY OF THE WORLD<br />

Imam Moosa Kazim (a.s.) said, “ This world is like a building that has a very low ro<strong>of</strong>. If<br />

one raises his head, he gets hurt. If one keeps his head low, he will pass away<br />

peacefully!”<br />

THE SAD END OF THE WORLD<br />

<strong>The</strong> Prophet <strong>of</strong> Islam (a.s.) has said, “ <strong>The</strong> world is like a delicacy. When consumed in<br />

excess, it causes pain in the tummy!”<br />

THE WORLD AND THE HEREAFTER CANNOT COME TOGETHER<br />

<strong>The</strong> Prophet <strong>of</strong> Islam (a.s.) has said, “ A man <strong>of</strong> the world is like a person who walks on<br />

water and wants that his feet don’t get wet!”<br />

To highlight the defects <strong>of</strong> the world we narrate in some detail:<br />

THE TALE OF BALOHAR & YUZASAF.<br />

Ibne Babawiah narrates from Mohammed bin Zakaria that in the realm <strong>of</strong> India there was<br />

a king who had sway over large areas and populations! He was fond <strong>of</strong> all carnal<br />

pleasures. He preferred the company <strong>of</strong> sycophants. He hated those who gave sound<br />

advice. But, despite all these, he excelled in governance and control <strong>of</strong> the affairs <strong>of</strong> the<br />

state. <strong>Al</strong>l his subjects were obedient to the last man. With power and pelf, his psyche was<br />

flying high! He was fully engrossed with his world <strong>of</strong> sins and pleasures! <strong>The</strong> praises <strong>of</strong>
