choir sisters are entirely shut out from the outer world by
what is termed the Inclosure. They are never allowed to go
out, nor is anybody allowed to go amongst them ; all communications
are held through an iron grating in the parlour.
The services in the chapel are public ; Mass every morning
at 7 ;
Benediction on Sunday and Wednesday afternoons at
4.30. Visitors are admitted to the parlour from 9 to 12,
and from 1 to 3, Sundays and holidays excepted.

OF NEW JERUSALEM.—Meeting Room in a yard 13,

Saviourgate, next the Institute.
UNITARIAN CHAPEL, in St. Saviourgate, is an
exceedingly plain and unpretending building, and is
cruciform in plan. It was erected in 1692, and wiU seat
2 5 persons. The Rev. Charles Wellbeloved, a celebrated
antiquary and historian, was minister here for over fifty
years. A schoolroom in connection with the above was
erected in 1878, and is in Spen Lane, immediately behind
the chapel.
UNITED, OR PLYMOUTH BRETHREN. — Small
Meeting House in Webster's Passage, St. Saviourgate, opposite
the church.
WESLEYAN METHODIST CHAPELS.—New Street
Chapkl, the oldest in the city, a very plain square brick
building, erected in 1805 ; will hold 800 persons.
Centenary Chapel, in St. Saviourgate, a large building
of brick, with stone portico ; the pediment is supported on
Ionic ])illars. It was opened in 1840 to commemorate the
€entennry of Wesleyan Methodism; and has seats for 1,500.
Wesley Chapel, Priory Street, is a handsome building of
brick .':nd stone in the Italian style of architecture, erected
in ISTrd at a cost of nearly £10,500; will seat 1,250.
. BOURNE Terrace Chapel, Fishergate, is a building

similar to the above (Italian), with a campanile tower, in
-which is a lighted clock ; was erected in 1877 at a cost of
£8,300 ;
will seat 850.
Street Chapel, The Groves, a small plain
buildiiig, erected in 1868 ; will hold 400 persons.
Wilton Street School Chapel, Holgate Eoad, erected
in 187:-' ;
will seat 200 ; is used both as a school-room
and pu'ce of worship.
