yasya̍ ̍̍ ̍ bra̱ ̱̱ẖma ca̍ ̍ kṣa̱ ̱̱ṯra̱ ̱ṁ ca̱ ̱ u̱ ̱̱ḇhe bha̍ ̍vata o̱ ̱̱ḏana̍ ̍ḥ |<br />
mṛtyu̍ ̍r ya̱ ̱syopa̍ ̍seca̱ ̱̱ṉa̱ ̱ṁ ka̱ ̱ itthā̍ ̍ veda̱ ̱ yatra̍ ̍ saḥ || 25 ||<br />
yasya = That for which;<br />
brahma ca kṣatraṁ ca = brahmins and Kshatriyas<br />
ubhe = both of whom;<br />
bhavataḥ = become;<br />
odanaḥ = food;<br />
yasya = for which;<br />
mṛtyuḥ = Death<br />
upasecanaṁ = [is as a] supplement to the food;<br />
kaḥ = who;<br />
veda = knows;<br />
itthā = in this manner;<br />
yatra = where;<br />
saḥ = It is?<br />
Who, then, knows where He is?<br />
He to whom Brahmins and kshattriyas are mere food and death itself a<br />
condiment?<br />
