yad e̍veha tad amutra ya̱ d amu̍ tra ta̱ d anvı̍ ha |<br />

mṛ̱ tyos sa̱ mṛtyu̍ m āpnoṯi̱ ya̱ iha nāne̍va paśyati || 10 ||<br />

yat eva iha = whatever is here<br />

tat = that is<br />

amutra = there<br />

yat = whatever is<br />

amutra = there<br />

tat anu iha = likewise here<br />

mṛtyoḥ = from death<br />

mṛtyum = to death<br />

sa āpnoti = he goes<br />

yaḥ = who<br />

iha = here<br />

nānā iva = like seperativeness<br />

paśyati = sees.<br />

'What is here (visible in the world), the same is there (invisible in Brahman); and what is<br />

there, the same is here. He who sees any difference here (between Brahman and the<br />

world), goes from death to death.'<br />

yathā brahmāṇḍa tathā piṇḍāṇḍa<br />

“as above – so below”<br />
