TECHNOLOGY
The Technology functional area was responsible for
the delivery of quality, reliable and cost effective
technology, information and communications systems
and services for facilitating and conducting the Games.
The functional area was working not only as a service
provider to all other programme areas of the OC SAG
but also as an enabler for successfully delivering the
Games. The FA undertook planning, development,
implementation, testing and operation of all
technology systems and services which were identified
as necessary and appropriate to support the OC SAG
and to conduct the Games. It included setting up
large complex networks, that is, Games Data Network
(GDN), Security Data Network (SDN) for the CCTVs
for Security, Network for Venue Press Centers etc;
rolling out Games Management System, a specialised
ERP like software for facilitating planning and conduct
of the Games; setting up TSR system for conducting
the Games; Secure Wireless Communication; a
Web-portal for dissemination of Games Information;
Data Centre with Data Redundancy (DR) & BCP and
Network Monitoring & Cyber Security. All these
however could not be fully achieved (or not required)
in the present case. The activities are described in the
following Sub functional areas mentioned below:
1. Network Services: BSNL was engaged as the
overall networking partner for carrying out

Network for the Main Press Centres (MPC) and
