As the Games flame at the cauldron was extinguished and<br />

curtains came down with a vibrant Closing Ceremony on<br />

February 16th 2016, the flag of the South Asian Olympic Council<br />

was also lowered and handed over to the officials of next host<br />

country -- Nepal.<br />

Marking the formal end to the 12-day multi-sport spectacle<br />

of the eight SAARC countries, Minister of State (Independent<br />

Charge) Youth Affairs & Sports) and Chairman OC-SAG Shri<br />

Sarbananda Sonowal declared the Games closed and handed<br />

over the flag to the President of the South Asian Olympic<br />

Council Shri N Ramachandran, who in turn handed it to 13th<br />

SAG Organising Committee Chairman and Nepal Olympic<br />

Committee Chief, Shri Jeevan Ram Shreshtha in the presence of<br />

Nepal Sports Minister, Shri Satya Narayan Mandal.<br />

The 13th South Asian Games to be hosted by Nepal, will be the<br />

third occasion when the event will be hosted in the beautiful<br />

country of Nepal, which has previously hosted the 1st edition in<br />

1984 and the 8th Edition in 1999.<br />
