FOREWORD

As the Games flame at the cauldron was extinguished and
curtains came down with a vibrant Closing Ceremony on
February 16th 2016, the flag of the South Asian Olympic Council
was also lowered and handed over to the officials of next host
country -- Nepal.
Marking the formal end to the 12-day multi-sport spectacle
of the eight SAARC countries, Minister of State (Independent
Charge) Youth Affairs & Sports) and Chairman OC-SAG Shri
Sarbananda Sonowal declared the Games closed and handed
over the flag to the President of the South Asian Olympic
Council Shri N Ramachandran, who in turn handed it to 13th
SAG Organising Committee Chairman and Nepal Olympic
Committee Chief, Shri Jeevan Ram Shreshtha in the presence of
Nepal Sports Minister, Shri Satya Narayan Mandal.
The 13th South Asian Games to be hosted by Nepal, will be the
third occasion when the event will be hosted in the beautiful
country of Nepal, which has previously hosted the 1st edition in
1984 and the 8th Edition in 1999.
