Dead reckoning (DR) mode active when the airplane is greater than 30<br />

nautical miles from the destination airport.<br />

(the airplane symbol and magenta course<br />

line on the map display)<br />

WARNING<br />

• All information normally derived from GPS turns<br />

amber. All of this information will become more<br />

inaccurate over time.<br />

• TAWS is inoperative.<br />

NOTE<br />

• DR mode uses heading, airspeed, and the last known<br />

GPS position to estimate the airplane’s current position.<br />

• All maps with an airplane symbol show a ghosted<br />

airplane and a “DR” label.<br />
