PAINTING WORKSHOP
This year SSD ran into one of the most daring and rewarding projects about deconstructing an existing artwork. The
students were encouraged to study and deconstruct a well known painting from a famous painter. The work was
reviewed by internationally renowned artist Subodh Gupta, and design guru Ambrish Arora.
Ambrish said Design as a domain has the power to deeply affect our lives. If design as a profession is to have a
sustained and meaningful impact on Indian society, this will mean having to fundamentally question and raise the bar
on the manner in which design education is being imparted in the country. It is not just a need but also an imperative. He
appreciated SSD and commented that it is successfully raising the bar.
