Faculty - SET
FACULTY ACHIEVEMENTS
Alok K Kushwaha
The purpose of engineering education is to develop a logical thinking process in a student to be able to analytically
evaluate every aspect of a task. This purpose is achieved by our faculty at SET, who enable students to learn the
application of engineering in creating the technologies they use in everyday life. They impart the best pedagogical
practices towards improving learning and also make recommendations for research aimed at enhancing what
they have learnt. SET has reform-oriented educationists grounded in enquiry, reflection, problem-solving and
experimentation, who involve the students in active, in-depth activities and focus on improving both content and
teaching techniques.
The faculty of Engineering has a clear focus on teaching and training in various areas based on a convergence
of theoretical knowledge, its application in industry and problem solving through live projects, simulation and
modelling. A special emphasis is laid on providing a hands-on experience to the students through in-house
laboratories and floor shops in the industrial units. Most of the faculty members have doctoral and postgraduate
degrees from renowned institutes like IITs & NITs and have published their work in top-notch international journals
like ‘International Journal of Computational Intelligence Techniques’, ‘International Journal of Semiconductor
Technology & Science’ and ‘Microwave and Optical Technology Letters’.
SET has meaningful collaborations with several government and private sector agencies such as Appin
Technologies, Automotive Skill Development Council and Sofcon India Ltd. for providing in-house training
programme to students, faculty as well as industry professionals. The faculty members of SET are committed to
develop the 21st century technical workforce by offering a well balanced education in a supportive environment.
The School faculty has an opportunity to engage in research activities related to automobile, information security,
non-conventional energy etc. through the Ainstein Center, a result of collaboration between Ansal University
and Steinberg University, Germany. By offering a hands-on learning experience through practicals, industrial
orientations, effective mentoring, application of latest technological tools and softwares, the faculty constantly
endeavours to provide an industry ready workforce.
