Conference Theme
We are all aware that human values exist alongside technology. Technological advances occur all around, whizzing
by, while human values change little and at a much slower pace. As scientific advances improve our lives, they also
complicate how we live and react to the new technologies. More and more human values come into conflict with scientific
advancement as we deal with important issues such as nuclear power, environmental degradation and information
technology. To fully cover this field and the vital issues that arise on an almost daily basis, we decided to bring together
participants from all over the country and abroad from physical and social science domains to achieve sharing of new
ideas and approaches towards this objective of gaining new insights and ideas on the convergence of human values and
technology.
ICECHVT 2013 offered the best keynotes featuring technical paper presentations and demonstrations. We received
an overwhelming response for presentation of papers at the Conference. These papers were evaluated on the basis of
their significance, novelty, and technical quality. Of the various papers submitted, 54 were selected as regular papers
for presentation at the conference, giving an impressive acceptance rate. There were participants from South Africa,
Singapore, Malaysia and various parts of the country. The conference was divided into five sessions: Material Science
and Technology, System Modeling and Simulation, Artificial Intelligence and Networks, Data Science and Computing,
Structures, Electrical Energy and Power Systems.
