The Division <strong>of</strong> HIV, STD, Viral<br />

Hepatitis will continue to partner with<br />

the <strong>Indiana</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Education to<br />

ensure that scientifically accurate and<br />

age appropriate information and<br />

prevention messages are provided in<br />

<strong>Indiana</strong> schools.<br />

Increase knowledge and awareness <strong>of</strong><br />

disease etiology and prevention.<br />

The Division will continue to engage the<br />

Department <strong>of</strong> Education in discussions and<br />

activities that inform local school boards and<br />

schools around the delivery <strong>of</strong> scientifically<br />

appropriate information and prevention<br />

messages.<br />

In addition, the Division will partner with<br />

DOE and appropriate outside research entities<br />

to assess school sexual health programs to<br />

ensure they are scientific evidence based, and<br />

are found to be effective, utilizing available<br />

DOE and YRBS data.<br />

Division staff and appropriate partners will<br />

participate in health fairs and community<br />

events where education can be provided.<br />

Effective Behavioral Interventions or EBIs<br />

will be provided in accordance with CDC<br />

guidance. Appropriate modifications will be<br />

utilized to ensure they adhere to CDC<br />

guidelines.<br />

The community based participatory model<br />

will continue utilizing the CPG, CAB, and<br />

CHSPAC groups and processes.<br />
