The <strong>Indiana</strong> One Test, Two Lives<br />
initiative will continue to provide<br />
education to medical providers and<br />
expectant mothers around the<br />
importance <strong>of</strong> prenatal HIV and hepatitis<br />
B (HBV) screening.<br />
The <strong>Indiana</strong> Medical Licensing Board<br />
rule will be amended to allow for the<br />
provision <strong>of</strong> Expedited Partner Therapy<br />
(EPT) when appropriate and on the<br />
discretion <strong>of</strong> the physician.<br />
Appropriate local health departments,<br />
community based organizations, AIDS<br />
service organizations, and community<br />
health centers will become ―one-stop<br />
shops‖ utilizing Program Collaboration<br />
and Service Integration (PCSI)<br />
guidelines to provide prevention<br />
education and services, testing, care and<br />
referral points for HIV, STDs, and viral<br />
hepatitis.<br />
A variety <strong>of</strong> media sources will be used<br />
to inform the public <strong>of</strong> combined<br />
prevention messages and available<br />
service <strong>of</strong>ferings.<br />
Increase the uptake <strong>of</strong> the vaccine<br />
schedule for human papillomavirus<br />
(HPV) among early adolescents and<br />
young adults to bring them in line with<br />
the national average.<br />
Educational materials, conference<br />
presentations, a media campaign, and other<br />
interventions will be planned and<br />
implemented to ensure 100% <strong>of</strong> pregnant<br />
women are screened for HIV and HBV.<br />
The Division <strong>of</strong> HIV, STD, Viral Hepatitis in<br />
partnership with the Medical Director will<br />
continue to support the Medical Licensing<br />
Board in amending the current rules<br />
appropriate to this intervention.<br />
Division staff and national technical<br />
assistance providers will provide technical<br />
assistance and financial support when able and<br />
appropriate to entities providing these<br />
services.<br />
Surveillance and reporting will be streamlined<br />
as appropriate to ensure a more<br />
comprehensive picture <strong>of</strong> linked diseases.<br />
Combined prevention messages will be<br />
developed to inform the public <strong>of</strong> disease<br />
etiology and prevention methods, and to<br />
provide information on how to access<br />
available services.<br />
The Division, in partnership with the<br />
Immunization Division, will educate providers<br />
and the community about the benefits <strong>of</strong> the<br />
vaccine for human papillomavirus (HPV)<br />
among early adolescents and young adults.<br />
