CEREBROVASCULAR DISEASE
In 2009, deaths from cerebrovascular disease were the third leading cause
of death in Indiana, causing 2.6% of all deaths. Over the past five years,
the prevalence of stroke for adults ages 18 years and older has been stable.

When residents of Indiana were asked if they had ever been told they had
a stroke, Indiana‘s prevalence was similar to the national median. (Table
1.10)
