Glowing Gardens<br />
The tail end of <strong>Sep</strong>tember will see most of Asia celebrating the end of the Autumn<br />
Harvest with the Mid-Autumn Festival. Traditionally, the festivities are marked<br />
with lantern processions as well as the consumption of mooncakes. At the<br />
renowned Gardens by the Bay however, the celebration is ushered in with grand<br />
form with a number of special attractions.<br />
Considered as one of Asia’s foremost garden destinations, the Gardens will<br />
exhibit sprawling lantern sets depicting the “Autumn Abundance” of the harvest<br />
season on its grounds. Offering not only a picturesque and highly ‘instagrammable’<br />
setting, Gardens by the Bay will also host nightly cultural performances, a<br />
showcase of local delights and interactive activities for young children throughout<br />

GATHERING OF SUPERHEROES<br />
For the tenth year running, the Singapore Toy Game & Comic Convention<br />
(STGCC) will showcase the latest and greatest in the toy, gaming and comic<br />
industry. Although the event has served as a gathering place for collectors<br />
and comic book and gaming fans, the STGCC has grown to become of the<br />
region’s premiere pop culture events.<br />
Attended by thousands, the STGCC also sees a number of cosplayers<br />
throng the event. Expect a legion of characters from Star Wars, Marvel and<br />
DC to invade the Sands Expo and Convention Centre Singapore throughout<br />
the two-day event.<br />
Joining in on the fun will be industry heavyweights<br />
from the various comics, toys and gaming industry.<br />
Scheduled to appear at this year’s event for talks and<br />
meet-and-greets are Frank Cho, creator of beloved comic<br />
strip series Liberty Meadows as well as Max<br />
Toy Company founder, Mark Nagata and<br />
Marvel Artist, Arthur Adams.<br />

GAME, SET & MATCH<br />
The best of women’s tennis will vie for honours at the BNP Paribas WTA<br />
(Women’s Tennis Association) Finals in Singapore in <strong>Oct</strong>ober. For the fourth<br />
year running, the Garden City will be the battleground for the top female<br />
tennis players as they go for broke in the run-up to the end of the <strong>2017</strong><br />
tennis season.<br />
With the WTA season winding down, this event will serve as the premiere<br />
event for the top eight singles and top eight doubles teams as they gun for<br />
the USD 7 million total prize money up for grabs at this year’s event. More<br />
importantly, the event will also serve as one of the key events for players to<br />
move up the rankings before the start of the new season next year.<br />
The indoor hard court event is scheduled to be held at the Singapore<br />
Indoor Stadium with the likes of Simona Halep, Karolina Pliskova, Venus<br />
Williams and reigning Wimbledon Champion, Garbiñe Muguruza expected<br />
