Further, the Northeast fares poorly in terms of percentage of population having LPG access as well.
The reason can be largely attributed to poor infrastructural connectivity network. LPG coverage
nationally is estimated to be at 65-70% whereas it is only 59% in NER. However, LPG coverage in
northeast India is likely to improve in the near future as initiatives have been taken to cover more
areas under LPG network.The coverage in some of areas is higher due to multiple connections or due
to inactive connections in that area.
