5.0EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION
5.1Front Panel

Two pressure ports (or more in case of Multiple Isolator) on the front panel as
shown in Figure 5-1 provide connections to the aircraft pressure ports. No. 9 is for
the static and No. 10 is for the pitot port. The diameters of the two quick-disconnect
couplers are different sizes to avoid wrong connections. As option the ports can be 4
(or 2, or 3) static and 4 (or 2, or 3) pitot, connected to normally open valves that can
be open/close through the HHRCU to verify leakage.
Manual regulators (3 and 4) are used to vent the system in case of electrical
power interruption. If the electrical power failure continues, manually open (slowly,
counter-clockwise) regulators 3 and 4 together, be sure the “V” No. 3 does not cause
an excessive airspeed, and the “E” No. 4 does not cause an excessive altitude rate.
If the ADTS has been manually vented before the startup, close the needle
valves before switching-on.
Connections to external pressure/vacuum generators must be tightly closed
(fittings 5 and 6 of Figure 5-1).
Fitting 5 is the positive pressure port, and may be used to apply a positive
pressure, not exceeding 2,000 hPa (relative). This may be used if the internal
pressure generator of the MPS 30 is not adequate for the pitot load.
Fitting 6 is the vacuum port. It may also be used as a vacuum source to fasten
special adapters with suckers to the aircraft (sometimes used for the static port).
This port may be used to connect an external vacuum pump to the MPS 30 to
replace the internal one.
Electrical connectors, switches, and warning lights:
- Connection to the electrical power: No. 2.
- Connection to the HHRCU: No. 7.
- Connection for remote control RS232 (optional) No. 8. This connector may be
used to control all the functions with an external PC with high level instructions.
Powerful for use of MPS30 in ATE systems.
