COURSE DESCRIPTION: This year-long course for MA, MPhil,<br />

PhD c<strong>and</strong>idates explores a range <strong>of</strong> human communication<br />

research topics leading to the development <strong>of</strong> a research<br />

proposal topics based on concepts that have been the source<br />

<strong>of</strong> inquiry in the discipline. This postgraduate level course<br />

emphasises critical reading <strong>and</strong> discussion <strong>of</strong> selected topics<br />

<strong>and</strong> concepts related to research in the various sub-fields <strong>of</strong><br />

communication studies, including but not limited to health<br />

communication, communication education, mass-mediated<br />

communication <strong>and</strong> media studies, <strong>and</strong> corporate <strong>and</strong><br />

organisational communications. Participants are encouraged<br />

to use systematic research procedures for developing human<br />

communication research topics <strong>and</strong> proposals in theoretical<br />

<strong>and</strong> applied settings<br />

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course provides advanced<br />

study <strong>and</strong> exploration <strong>of</strong> human communication concepts in<br />

pr<strong>of</strong>essional settings <strong>and</strong> research contexts. It is a postgraduate<br />

level course suitable for persons preparing for careers requiring<br />

expertise <strong>and</strong> training in the various sub-fields <strong>of</strong> communication<br />

studies, including but not limited to health communication,<br />

communication education, mass-mediated communication<br />

<strong>and</strong> media studies, <strong>and</strong> corporate communications. Participants<br />

are encouraged to use systematic research procedures for<br />

analysing, investigating <strong>and</strong> resolving human communication<br />

issues in theoretical <strong>and</strong> applied settings.<br />

PhD c<strong>and</strong>idates surveys a range <strong>of</strong> human communication<br />

in the discipline. This postgraduate level course emphasises<br />

related to research in health communication. Participants<br />

investigating <strong>and</strong> describing issues in health communication<br />
