Unfortunately, there was not enough detail presented to adequately evaluate success factors.

The work presented addressed a waste stream, poultry litter, and a means (microalgae production) as a
means (among others) to treat it. THis was useful but there appeared to lack clear and comprehensive
trigger points for decision making.

The project success factors do not appear to be defined in terms of technical and economic hurdles to
algal biofuel production.

Please comment on the degree to which the project adequately interfaces and coordinates with other
institutions and projects to provide additional benefits to the Biomass Program, such as publications,
awards, or others.

It was unclear whether and how the results of these disparate lines of laboratory research would benefit
the Biomass Program.

If research results and theory indicate that the use of PLE is not a viable option for algal biofuel
production, valuable informatton sharing would be to reach these conclusions and explain the nutrient
charactorstics that are unsuitable.
