CAUTION<br />

The exhaust duct becomes very hot when the shower unit is operating. To<br />

prevent severe burns, soldiers must not touch the duct while the equipment is<br />

in use.<br />

• Fuel connection setup. To connect the fuel set up, shower personnel per<strong>for</strong>m the following steps:<br />

•• Place the fuel container about 5 feet from the water heater.<br />

WARNING<br />

Fuel used with the shower unit is highly flammable <strong>and</strong> may be dangerous<br />

to human life if h<strong>and</strong>led improperly. All fuel fittings must be tightened<br />

firmly with a wrench to prevent leaks. Recheck all fittings when the water<br />

heater is operating to ensure no fuel leaks with the system under pressure.<br />

•• Screw the drum fill adapter into the fuel container.<br />

•• Connect the fuel line from the pump filter to the suction fitting on the drum fill<br />

adapter assembly.<br />

•• Connect the fuel line from the pump to the return fitting.<br />

•• Connect the cable assembly to the water heater, water pump, <strong>and</strong> power source.<br />

WARNING<br />

Use only specified fuel. Failure to do so may result in injury to personnel<br />

or equipment.<br />

CAUTION<br />

Lack of lubrication may cause pump damage when straight gasoline is used as<br />

fuel. To avoid failure, 1 quart of oil must be mixed with each 5 gallons of<br />

gasoline used.
