Delousing Procedures. Operators position the delousing outfit so that the exhaust is outside if a<br />

tent is used. They allow space <strong>for</strong> ventilation around the delousing unit, because of the heat it generates. It<br />

takes 11 men to operate the outfit; 10 operate the dusting guns, <strong>and</strong> 1 person refills the canisters. Members<br />

of the unit that are receiving the service man the guns <strong>and</strong> refill the canisters. Delousing actions may<br />

consist of --<br />

Power Fumigating. Delousing guns will provide about a 2-gram dose of disinfectant with<br />

each pull of the trigger. It takes only a moment of pressure on the trigger when the power fumigator is<br />

being used. When power fumigating soldiers, operators will per<strong>for</strong>m the following steps.<br />

• Tell a soldier to loosen collar <strong>and</strong> belt <strong>and</strong> to st<strong>and</strong> holding hat or helmet in h<strong>and</strong> as shown below in<br />
