development and truth as be<strong>in</strong>g all about emotional<br />
experience. Dyson made <strong>the</strong> l<strong>in</strong>k between <strong>the</strong> willful drive<br />
to reunite soul and substance with Bion’s epistemological<br />
<strong>the</strong>ory of th<strong>in</strong>k<strong>in</strong>g. This <strong>the</strong>ory rests on a claim that th<strong>in</strong>k<strong>in</strong>g<br />
must f<strong>in</strong>d <strong>the</strong> will to be free of memory and desire. In<br />
this <strong>for</strong>mulation Dyson po<strong>in</strong>ted out how human karma<br />
lives <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> memory and desire <strong>for</strong> develop<strong>in</strong>g through<br />
relationship. A radical new psychology must <strong>the</strong>re<strong>for</strong>e<br />
advocate <strong>for</strong> a deeper understand<strong>in</strong>g of how human<br />
relationships can be freed from repetitive self-<strong>in</strong>dulgent<br />
egoistic patterns so that <strong>the</strong>y may serve <strong>the</strong> development,<br />
each of <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r. Dr. Dyson ended his talk with a verse<br />
found <strong>in</strong> one of <strong>Rudolf</strong> Ste<strong>in</strong>er’s notebooks, entitled In<br />
Times To Come:<br />
In times to come<br />
Human be<strong>in</strong>gs will have to exist<br />
The one <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r<br />
And not <strong>the</strong> one through <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r<br />
Thus is reached <strong>the</strong> world's ultimate aim<br />
That each one is with <strong>the</strong>mselves<br />
And each would give to <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r what none would<br />
demand.<br />
Movement VI<br />
Robert Sardello delivered a mighty, breathtak<strong>in</strong>g<br />
imag<strong>in</strong>ation of key aspects of Holy Wisdom <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> most<br />
humble and <strong>in</strong>timate manner. He spoke of <strong>the</strong> source of<br />
Holy Wisdom as a realm of Light elevated beyond <strong>the</strong><br />
conceptual realm of spiritual hierarchies. This gnostic view<br />
of Sophia <strong>in</strong> her majesty evoked a deep sense of wonder<br />
and awe. Sardello <strong>the</strong>n masterfully described a descent of<br />
Holy Wisdom <strong>in</strong>to Mo<strong>the</strong>r Mary. By penetrat<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong><br />
significant stages <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> life of Mo<strong>the</strong>r Mary – Annunciation,<br />
Immaculate Conception, Pentecost and Assumption,<br />
he was able to highlight soul processes and soul capacities<br />
which are essential <strong>for</strong> every human be<strong>in</strong>g to be aware of<br />
and to practice. To f<strong>in</strong>d peace <strong>in</strong> surrender to <strong>the</strong> Div<strong>in</strong>e<br />
<strong>in</strong> our life, to give birth to <strong>the</strong> miracles of our becom<strong>in</strong>g,<br />
to articulate <strong>the</strong> truths that liberate and <strong>in</strong>spire, and to<br />
overcome <strong>the</strong> gravity and weight of <strong>the</strong> body and its<br />
ultimate end – death – <strong>the</strong>se were accounted as four stages<br />
on <strong>the</strong> path of spiritual development by Sardello. His own<br />
William Bento, James Dyson, Dennis Klocek, and Robert Sardello.<br />
heart-centered delivery of <strong>the</strong>se processes was as mov<strong>in</strong>g as<br />
<strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>sights he shared.<br />
Sardello concluded with a third level of <strong>the</strong> descent of<br />
Holy Wisdom by referr<strong>in</strong>g to <strong>the</strong> mysteries of <strong>the</strong> Black<br />
Madonna. In this segment of his talk he illum<strong>in</strong>ated <strong>the</strong><br />
common gesture of <strong>the</strong> Black Madonna images throughout<br />
<strong>the</strong> ages, i.e., mo<strong>the</strong>r hold<strong>in</strong>g son <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> space of her heart<br />
and he gaz<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>to <strong>the</strong> future with <strong>the</strong> courage to bear all<br />
that is to come. Robert stated <strong>the</strong> vital task stream<strong>in</strong>g out<br />
of a psychosophy is to be able to carry <strong>the</strong> suffer<strong>in</strong>g of <strong>the</strong><br />
Soul of <strong>the</strong> World and to f<strong>in</strong>d <strong>the</strong> strength to trans<strong>for</strong>m it<br />
<strong>in</strong>to <strong>the</strong> Anthroposophia — <strong>the</strong> wisdom of becom<strong>in</strong>g fully<br />
human.<br />
Movement VII<br />
Dennis Klocek gave repeated demonstrations of <strong>the</strong><br />
threefold dynamic of <strong>the</strong> triune bra<strong>in</strong> (bra<strong>in</strong> stem, limbic<br />
and neo-cortex). This is vital <strong>for</strong> understand<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong><br />
dysfunctions found <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> autistic spectrum, and he<br />
emphasized that an anthroposophical approach to psychology<br />
must stay abreast of <strong>the</strong> most recent developments <strong>in</strong><br />
neuroscience. Review<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> neuroscience of <strong>the</strong> bra<strong>in</strong> and<br />
its capacity to shed light on <strong>the</strong> autistic spectrum, Dennis<br />
moved to a pithy and serious analysis of how our contemporary<br />
culture is creat<strong>in</strong>g demons through its unbridled<br />
proliferation of technological stimulation. He referred to<br />
Ste<strong>in</strong>er’s warn<strong>in</strong>gs that <strong>in</strong> future, which is now, <strong>the</strong> human<br />
be<strong>in</strong>g will be attacked by his own creations. Dennis<br />
addressed <strong>the</strong> deeper significance of creation as a matter<br />
not of utility but of nobility and beauty. He <strong>the</strong>n moved<br />
from a diagnostic frame of reference to seek<strong>in</strong>g <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
solutions and antidotes to <strong>the</strong> problem: an ever-widen<strong>in</strong>g<br />
