Il y a romans de plage et… romans de plage. Des premiers, on se souvient
surtout du sable chaud, du soleil et de l’eau. Les seconds – ceux de notre
sélection – marquent un été. Pouvoir des mots, talent d’un écrivain qui nous
prend par la main et nous entraîne, à sa suite, dans une histoire où l’on entre
avec délice. Ainsi Douglas Kennedy, avec son 12 e manuscrit, à la fois
suspense, roman et aventure, fait-il l’autopsie d’un couple. Saint-Exupéry avait
rencontré le Petit Prince ; lui, c’est d’une petite princesse des sables, en plein
désert marocain, qu’il a fait la connaissance. Et c’est elle qui lui inspirera Mirage.

There are beach novels and there are…

our selection – make for a memorable
summer. Powerful words, a talented
writer who takes us by the hand and
leads us along in a story we enter
eagerly. Like Douglas Kennedy, with
his twelfth work, a mix of suspense,
romance and adventure in a
relationship post-mortem. Saint-
Exupéry met the Little Prince, but
here, it is a little sand princess, in the
middle of the Moroccan desert, who
inspired The Heat of Betrayal. Is love
a mirage? The answer can perhaps be
found in Les Quatres Saisons de l’Été
(The Four Seasons of Summer) by
