LES ÎLES VOISINES - THE SURROUNDING ISLANDS
Nosy Komba, le plus peuplé des archipels autour de Nosy Be,
est connu en tant que l’île aux lémuriens. En effet, vêtue d’une
forêt dense, plusieurs espèces s’y trouvent et sont protégées
par la culture locale, qui les considère comme sacrées.
Autrefois, l’île a été le refuge de la reine Sakalava Tsiomeko
après avoir été chassée de la Grande Terre.
Nosy Komba, the most inhabited of the archipelagos around
Nosy Be, is known as being the island of lemurs. Covered in
dense forest, it shelters several species that are protected by the
local culture, which considers them as sacred. The island was
formerly a refuge for the Sakalava queen Tsiomeko when she
was banished from the Big Island.
Nosy Antanihely ou Nosy Tanikely, traduit littéralement ‘l’île
de la petite terre’, est une aire protégée marine et côtière
grâce à son fond marin unique qui est un véritable aquarium
géant. Sa biodiversité terrestre est également remarquable.
Trekking, plongée sous-marine, et tout le panel d’activités sur
place sont les bonnes raisons pour la découverte de l'île.
Nosy Antanihely or Nosy Tanikely, literally translated as ‘the
island of the small territory’, is a protected marine and coastal
area due to the unique character of its sea: a true giant aquarium.
The biodiversity in itself is also remarkable. Hiking, diving and
a whole range of other activities are offered, contributing to the
very good reasons for discovering this island.
Nosy Iranja est connu par le banc de sable blanc d’environ
2km qui relie les deux îlots Nosy Iranja Be et Nosy Iranja
Kely qui composent l’archipel. Iranja est un lieu paisible et
incroyablement beau grâce à son eau turquoise scintillant
au soleil et sa grande étendue de sable blanc. Détenant
également une grande biodiversité, Nosy Iranja est également
couvert par une forêt tropicale luxuriante. Ses eaux
poissonneuses servent d’habitat à plusieurs tortues marines.
Nosy Iranja is known for the 2km strip of white sand that links
the two tiny islands of Nosy Iranja Be and Nosy Iranja Kely, that
make up the archipelago. Iranja is a peaceful and incredibly
beautiful spot thanks to its turquoise sea shimmering in the sun
and its long stretch of white sand. Presenting a rich biodiversity,
Nosy Iranja is also covered by a lush tropical forest. Its waters,
teaming with fish, are the habitat of several species of sea turtle.
L’archipel des Mitsio, au nord-est de Nosy Be, est un
ensemble d’îles vierges aux plages de rêve dont Tsarabanjina,
Les Quatres Frères, paradis des oiseaux, Nosy Tolholo le
royaume des mérous et la grande Mitsio. Les baobabs et
les orchidées mettent l’accent sur la beauté de ces îles. La
Grande Mitsio se distingue encore plus grâce aux formations
géologiques au sud. Tsarabanjina, quant à elle, est une île
sacrée des Sakalava qui regorge d’une végétation luxuriante,
des plages de sable blanc ainsi qu’une faune très diversifiée.
The Mitsio archipelago, to the north-east of Nosy Be, is a group
of uninhabited islands each with heavenly beaches. They include
Tsarabanjina, the Quatres Frères (a bird paradise), Nosy Tolholo,
(the kingdom of grouper fish) and the island of the Grande
Mitsio. The baobabs and orchids contribute to the beauty of
these islands. The Grande Mitsio is remarkable for the geological
structures in the south. Tsarabanjina, covered in lush vegetation
and with its fine white sand and great diversity of fauna, is, also, a
sacred island for the Sakalava.
