SOCIAL MEDIA IN THE
LEARNING PROCESS IN
SECONDARY SCHOOL: YES
OR NO?
SUMMARY
The increasing amount of media and
technology in everyday life - at work and in
education – brings about a lot of questions
concerning the life in the future, mutual
interactions, opportunities and risks that
social media could impart for society. Digital
technologies has provided the opportunity
for a new kind of communicators, which
has changed the way the people access
information, share media content and
learn. The boundaries in the use of social
media for entertainment, training and work
are becoming increasingly blurred, thus
challenging the field of education and
encouraging it to change. The choice to use
or not to use social media in the learning
process in secondary school is influenced
by different factors. All these factors are
based on a desire, joy and courage to learn,
to improve, and to grow alongside the pupil,
and to grow together.
