ECYU announcement
ECYU, established in 1996 in Norway, has been widely
supported by KLASSISKE LINJER since then. The combination
seemed to be logical; a Norwegian president and a
Norwegian executive board almost “demanded” publications
of this newly born association to be in a Norwegian magazine.
KL, edited by Chris Ennals as an expatriate Englishman
living in Norway, seemed to be predestined for the task. After
three years we all got accustomed to the high standard of the
Norwegian and international articles in CLASSIC LINES.
We had hoped it might be possible to have our own ECYU
magazine, but this would be far too costly at the present
stage. As the Norwegian presidency will end during the current
year and as it is the declared policy of ECYU to «rotate»,
Freundeskreis Klassische Yachten, the German Classic Yacht
Club has been asked to carry on the burden of writing and

Ennals for the marvellous work he has done during the past
three years and hope to be able to continue on the same
level. We would appreciate to receive international contributions
(especially in English) in the future and we will be
pleased to hear that many of today's KL-readers would like
to receive the issues of Freundeskreis magazine in future,
published to members and those who are interested twice or
three times a year. Please let us know – and try to be patient
if we cannot reach KL's quality and standard all at once.
