This work presents a generic methodology for Static Var Compensator and
Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor representation in the s-Domain using tensor
modeling, considering frequency interdependency. The methodology can be applied to
thyristor or self-commutated based devices representation and results in analytical
models adequate for determination of harmonic steady-state using Newton-Raphson
method. This methodology permits the use of linear analysis tools for dynamic studies.
The models implemented using tensor analysis in the s-domain can be applied to the
analysis of balanced and unbalanced operation conditions, considering current and
voltage distortions. The proposed models are efficient in harmonic interaction studies.
The purpose of this work is to represent and analyze linear models, for Static
Var Compenstor and Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor that yields time domain
results similar to those obtained by electromagnetic transient programs. These linear
models allow the use of linear control theory and modal analysis.
