Em tempos de pandemia um professor gay encontra-se com um
dos seus alunos num restaurante e passam em revista o passado
e como as relações humanas mudaram contra o esperado. Os efeitos
da pandemia, de como os outros tratam os diferentes, a morte,
a vida, a cultura, a honestidade e a mentira, o amor e a traição,
contados através de um longo diálogo que reconstitui vidas e
tragédias pessoais. O que parece não é num argumento cheio
de surpresas.
Um prolífero e premiado realizador e argumentista filipino que
conta com 32 prémios nacionais e internacionais, conhecido entre
outros por “Bwakaw” (2012), vencedor do Prémio de Melhor
Filme no Cinemalaya Film Festival, “Die Beautiful” (2016),
vencedor do Prémio do Público e Melhor Actor no Festival
de Tóquio, e “Big Night” (2021) que venceu o Famas Award.
During the pandemic, A gay professor meets with one of his students
at a restaurant and go through their past and how human relationships
have evolved. The effects of the pandemic, how society sees different
people, death, life, culture, honesty, lies, love and treason, all dissected
in a long dialogue that reviews past lives and personal tragedies. Things
are never what they seem in a screenplay filled with unexpected twists.
A prolific Philipino director and writer, with over 30 international
and national awards, known for “Bwakaw” (2012), winner of the
Best Fil Award at the Cinemalaya Film Festival, “Die Beautiful”
(2016), winner of the Audience and Best Actor Awards in the Tokyo
Festival, and “Big Night” (2021) winner of the Famas Award.
