FILIPINO FILM PRODUCER, AWARDED
BY THE FILIPINO GOVERNMENT.
HE MIGRATED TO CANADA IN 1990
AND PROMOTES FILIPINO FILMS
IN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVALS.
HE CAME BACK TO THE PHILIPPINES
IN 2005 AND WORKS FULL TIME AS A PRODUCER,
WITH MORE THAN 90 FILMS.
A sua filmografia incluiu as 10 longas-metragens integradas na
Retrospectiva que o Fantasporto inclui, mais duas outras que
passam este ano em competição na Semana dos Realizadores,
“Kargo” e “About Us But Not About Us”. Trabalhando com os
maiores festivais do mundo, as suas produções passaram já em
festivais como Cannes, Berlim, Veneza, Locarno, Cairo, Toronto,
Tóquio, Karlovy Vary, Tallinn, Xangai e Nova Iorque. É membro
do Asian Film Awards e do Asia Pacific Film Festival.
Ferdinand Lapuz tem sido um colaborador regular do Fantasporto
há mais de uma década, tendo já recebido para os seus filmes
variados prémios. A nossa homenagem a este grande produtor e o
nosso agradecimento.
Part of his filmography is included in the 10 features presented in the
Fantasporto Retrospective of his work, in addition to the two, “Kargo”
and “About Us But Not About Us” that integrate the competition in the
Directors Week. His films have been exhibited in festivals including the
Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Locarno, Cairo, Toronto, Tokyo, Karlovy Vary,
Tallinn, Shanghai and New York Film Festivals. He is a member of the
Asian Film Awards and Asia Pacific Film Festival Awards.
Ferdinand Lapuz has been a frequent collaborator of Fantasporto for
over a decade, having already received several awards for his films in
Porto. Today, we pay tribute to this great producer, with our thanks.
