O presidente da poderosa Gojo Conglomerate manda matar um a
um os yakuzas e quase todos os seus opositores. Depois, anuncia
que vai concorrer a “mayor” e que a sua cidade terá mais segurança
se ele for eleito. Mas uma brigada especial e secreta da polícia vai
investigá-lo e derrotá-lo. Com excelentes interpretações, especialmente
de Hitoshi Ozawa no papel do chefe da equipa policial, este
é um dos melhores exemplos do thriller japonês, cheio de acção
mas não descurando a construção das personagens.
Antigo “stunt man” em vários filmes, esta é a primeira longametragem
deste, agora, realizador japonês.
A former stunt man, this is the first feature by this Japanese director.
The president of the powerful Gojo Conglomerate sends to death
most of the yakuzas and almost all of those who oppose him. Then he
announces he is running for mayor and says his city will be safer with
him in charge. But a special and secret unit from the police is going to
investigate him and defeat him. With fine acting from all, especially
Hitoshi Ozawa in the role of the head investigator, this is one of the
finest examples of Japanese thrillers, filled with action but not forgetting
the construction of the characters.
