The city generated over
3 thousand jobs in 2022
Despite the post-pandemic national state of affairs,
São Carlos generated 3,239 jobs in 2022, according
to data from the Ministry of Labor and Employment
via the new Caged (general register for employment
and unemployment). This positive balance was due to
several economic sectors, especially “Services”, which
was responsible for over 50% of hires and a total of
1,865 jobs. Next is “Commerce”, with 779 hires,
strengthening the city’s economic recovery after the
restrictive Covid-19 period.

discount of up to 50% determined at the beginning of
a career; that is, lawyers, architects, engineers, doctors,
vets, dentists, carpenters, gardeners and professionals
from several other areas can all request to pay only half
of the ISS tax during the first three years of their careers.
