São Carlos is among the top 100 smartest
and most connected cities in Brazil
São Carlos is ranked 73rd among the smartest and
most connected cities in the country. The “Connected
Smart Cities” ranking analyzes 75 indicators within
Brazilian cities with over 50 thousand inhabitants
across 11 thematic categories, such as mobility,
urbanism, health, education and economy.
The city’s privileged position is a result of great
investment in innovation, sustainability and quality
of life. São Carlos’ Town Hall unites the whole of the
innovation ecosystem in order to develop education,
entrepreneurship, urban mobility, tech, environment
and other solutions.
The city is a birthplace for startups
São Carlos is one of the São Paulo cities with highest
prominence among startups, which are generally techbased
companies that develop innovative products
or provide services with rapid growth potential at no
additional cost increase.
At the end of 2022, 100 Open Startups, the main
international platform for corporations and startups,
announced the 100 Open Startups Ranking, which
acknowledges the best-suited initiatives for the country’s
corporate environment. For the 4th year in a row, a
São Carlos company was ranked in the top 10 retailers
in Brazil. “Predify” utilizes Artificial Intelligence,
Machine Learning and algorithms to help entrepreneurs
establish healthy and competitive prices.
