population are almost equal. It is understood that the rapid demographic growth trends
occurred in the last 5 years. That is because the population of Etimesgut has increased by about
125 thousand in the period 2012-2016.
In addition, it is noteworthy that Etimesgut is listed as one of the highest literacy rate out of
5 districts of Ankara and with a total literacy rate of 98% and above. Again in 2016, this district
let in the highest number of immigrants, which is more than 3 thousand 500 people, among
the districts of Ankara. Etimesgut, in the 2015-2016 school year, has followed the districts of
Keçioren, Çankaya, Mamak and Sincan with its high student population. The level of
urbanization in the province is rapidly developing with new housing. In the 2000-2014 period,
it was in 7th place (3,714 new houses) in terms of new resident creation. In this study, as one of
the continually developing major districts of Ankara and rapidly developing province of a
dynamic economy and research and development field, a socio-economic analysis of
Etimesgut will be carried out. Furthermore, this district’s economic, sociological and dynamic
aspects will be evaluated and its perspectives for the future will be aimed to be established in
this regard.
