Spr<strong>in</strong>g carpets the woodlandfloor with primroses, wood anemones,violets and bluebells, whilst the lowautumnal sun sets their leafy t<strong>in</strong>ts ofgold and red ablaze. Many of thesebroadleaved woodlands are native,hav<strong>in</strong>g grown here naturally forcenturies. A rich variety of wildlife hasestablished under the quiet protectionof their eaves. Luxuriant mosses andferns provide an emerald backdrop fornocturnal badgers, whilst small gangsof long tailed tits dart through thehigh canopy.
