In Flintshire the route winds its way from the Welsh border at Sealand toGronant in the north of the county. It’s well marked, and between Chester and Connah’sQuay becomes an eight mile traffic-free path for cyclists, walkers and wheelchair users.This section was developed by Flintshire and Cheshire County Councils and uses the oldMickle Trafford freight line, which is now being managed as a linear park and woodland.Beyond Connah’s Quay, National Cycle Network Route 5 follows on-road sections thatmay not be suitable for the novice cyclist.
