From car park cross road and turn L in frontof brick chapel and R onto lane before stonechapel. At T junction continue ahead downnarrow path beside Derby Arms. Crosspackhorse bridge and walk up lane. Continueover railway bridge and continue to main road.For short cut 'a' take path on L just after railway.Cross road and walk up drive opposite. Atentrance to Rhyddyn Farm (white house) turnR up steps and over stile then walk L alongfenceline. At fence corner follow footpathsigned ahead, walking uphill, to stile in fence.2. Cross stile and turn L along path (the raisedbank on which you are walking is part ofWat's Dyke). Turn L then R thro' gate. Overstile and continue on path as it bears R to joinroad. Turn L along road and then L downminor lane immediately after. Continue alongresidential lane to Hope Church. Turn L infront of church to main road. Cross road, turnL and immediate R down Sarn Lane. Continueunder railway bridge.Short cut 'a' joins from L just before railway.3. Before river bridge, cross stile on R andfollow path along riverside. Continue thro'fields with river on LHS crossing 3 stiles.When path bears R climb up towards road.Cross stile and turn L to cross river via oldbridge. Turn L to follow opposite river bank,now walking with river on LHS.4. Where river bends continue along riversideto stile. Cross stile and walk diagonally Racross field to cross stile in top RH corner.Cross field to visible stile. Over stile andcontinue ahead to stile by houses. Ontonarrow path between housing and continueahead on lane, over crossroads. Turn R beforeDerby Arms and retrace footsteps back tocar park.Extension to Caergwrle CastleFrom car park turn R past Old Castle Inn andcross road opposite war memorial. Follow pathuphill on L of memorial. Climb steps and bearR along path up more steps, following clearpath to castle ruins on hilltop.Y Daith Gerdded1.
