In order that you enjoy yourday to its fullest, be realistic about what level of walk best suitsyour ability.The walks are graded EASY MODERATE and STRENUOUS.Some sections on many of the walks are suitable for buggies orwheelchairs, but none are fully accessible. See walks’ descriptionsfor detail.EASY Generally flat and relatively short distances. Followssurfaced tracks, lanes or well-trodden footpaths.MODERATE Undulat<strong>in</strong>g farmland, follow<strong>in</strong>g quiet lanes, pathsand tracks, often with many stiles. 4-6 miles distance.STRENUOUS Open country with at least one steep ascent/descent.More than 5 miles. Follows paths, tracks and may use Open AccessLand (page 80).The 10 M<strong>in</strong>ute <strong>Walks</strong>We have also identified sections of our <strong>Rural</strong> <strong>Walks</strong> across Fl<strong>in</strong>tshirethat are ideal for a short trip <strong>in</strong> the countryside for families want<strong>in</strong>gto get out with young children, wheelchair users, or anyone whocan only do a short distance.Each section will be near a good place to park, and the grad<strong>in</strong>gbelow will give you an idea of what to expect of the surface. Thisguide assumes that all kiss<strong>in</strong>g gates are unsuitable for wheelchairsor buggies to get through.Access for a wheelchair or buggy. Flat, level surfaces.No wheelchair / buggy access. Fairly level surfaceswithout stiles, slopes or steps.Slightly more adventurous.
