Optimierung von Rollenlagerungen für
Stranggießanlagen
Im Rahmen eines geförderten Verbundprojektes
wurde am Beispiel von Rollenlagerungen für Stranggießanlagen
für hoch beanspruchte fettgeschmierte
Lagerungen bei ungünstigen Umgebungsbedingungen
ein Lagerungs-, Dichtungs- sowie Schmierungskonzept
entwickelt, mit dem neben einer
deutlichen Standzeitverlängerung eine wesentliche
Senkung des Schmierfettbedarfs erreicht werden
kann.
Neben hohen Lasten der Rollenlagerungen
musste insbesondere die starke Beaufschlagung mit
Prozesswasser und Schmutzpartikeln berücksichtigt
werden. Zur Abdichtung werden diese Lager stark
überfettet. Neben einer Erhöhung der Standzeit war
eine deutliche Reduzierung des Fettverbrauches,
im Idealfall durch eine Lebensdauerschmierung
wesentliches Projektziel.
vorgenommen. Auf dieser Grundlage wurden für
unterschiedliche Schmierungskonzepte Modellfette
entwickelt sowie umfangreiche tribologische
Modell- und Bauteilprüfungen durchgeführt.
Basierend auf den Versuchsergebnissen und Simulationsrechnungen
wurden die Anforderungen an
das Lager- / Dichtungskonzept ermittelt sowie die
Auswahl geeigneter Schmierfette vorgenommen.
Im Ergebnis der Untersuchungen wurde ein
Schmierfett entwickelt, das eine hohe Lasttragfähigkeit,
einen guten Verschleiß- und Korrosionsschutz
sowie eine sehr gute Wasserverträglichkeit
aufweist. Für die angestrebte Lebensdauerschmierung
wurde ein unter den vorliegenden baulichen
Bedingungen einsetzbares optimiertes Lagerungsund
Dichtungskonzept realisiert.
In einem abschließenden Betriebsversuch in der
Stranggießanlage wurde mit der Lebensdauerschmierung
ein im Vergleich zur heute eingesetzten
Überfettung deutlich besseres Verschleißverhalten
ermittelt. Neben einer beachtlichen Schmierstoffverminderung
ist damit eine deutliche Standzeitverlängerung
möglich.
Optimisation of roller bearings for continuous
casting plants
In a collaborative project funded by the German
Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF),
a bearing, sealing and lubrication concept was
developed for highly stressed grease-lubricated
bearing points in harsh environments. This was
done using roller bearings for continuous casting
plants as an example. The developed concept can
considerably lengthen the life of the bearings
while significantly reducing the lubricant demand.
In addition to the high loads the roller bearings
have to withstand, they are also heavily exposed
to process water and dirt particles. These bearings
are usually well over-greased to seal them.
Besides lengthening the life of the bearings, a
major aim of the project also to significantly reduce
the lubricant consumption, ideally by achieving
lubrication for life.
The starting point for developing the optimised
concept was a detailed load and stress analysis.
Over a period of approximately one year, the
forces and temperatures were recorded at the
bearing points of a roller segment in the highly
stressed casting bow within the cooling chamber
of the continuous caster. The bearing components
were assessed and the grease analysed at cyclical
intervals. Based on the information gained, model
greases were developed for different lubrication
concepts, and extensive tribological tests were
conducted on models and components.
The test results and numerical simulations
were used to determine the requirements for
the bearing/sealing concept and to select suitable
greases.
The outcome of the investigations was the
development of a grease lubricant that has high
load-bearing capability, good wear and corrosion
protection characteristics, and is highly compatible
with water. An optimised bearing and sealing
concept was designed for the envisaged lubrication
for life under the existing structural conditions.
In a final operating test in the continuous caster,
the “lubed for life” bearings showed significantly
improved tribological performance compared
with the current overgreasing practice. Besides
reducing lubricant consumption by a considerable
amount, this will also significantly lengthen the
life of the bearings.
