der Neuausrichtung der Beleuchtung oder zur
Anpassung der Berechnungsalgorithmen, z.B. des
Fehlerklassifikators, herangezogen.
implementieren, siehe Bild 124.
lighting, or to adapt the calculation algorithms,
e.g. for the defect classifier.
Based on the now more reliable data, suitable key
performance indices (KPIs) for surface quality will
be calculated for each individual installation and
for the entire machinery and equipment chain.
These KPIs will then form the basis for different
applications geared to the improvement of surface
quality: monitoring and reporting, defect cause
analysis, process and equipment optimisation,
and improved allocation of materials.
Project work initially focused on recording
existing strategies of the manufacturers of the
surface inspection systems and making these
usable for data evaluation. One major objective
here is the allocation of SIS status information
to each individual inspection result, as this is
the only way of assuring the automatic use of
reliable data. Alongside the existing solutions,
new techniques capable of identifying problems
occurring during inspection were developed.
The calculated surface KPIs are being used in
a production environment and already enable
the staff to respond faster and more effectively
to quality problems than in the past. Building
on these results, BFI will implement a system
for automatic root cause analysis, see Fig. 124.
Integrierte, automatisierte und multi-variate
SPC-Lösung für die Prozessindustrie am Beispiel
von Bandmaterial
Statistische Prozessregelung (= Statistical Process
Integrated, automated and multivariate SPC
solution for the process industry as exemplified
in the case of strip material
Statistical process control (SPC) is a standard
quality assurance technique in industry and is
offered in a large variety of software packages.
Nevertheless, there is no system that adequately
covers the specific aspects of the process industry,
and more particularly, the steel industry. The
reasons for this lie on the one hand in the widely
varying characteristics of steelmaking processes
(from very slow chemical processes through to
very fast forming and fabrication processes, such
as in rolling) and, on the other hand, in the very
broad spectrum of quality features between the
intermediate and the end products. Furthermore,
new quality assurance systems have been developed
in the steel industry in recent years. One example
of this is processrelated decision support, which
also requires to be taken into consideration when
using SPC techniques.
The aim of the project is to develop methods
to improve SPC and to combine it with decision
