Wie wichtig ist das Thema Urban Lifestyle inzwischen auch in der
Sportbekleidung? Immer wichtiger. Deswegen passt unser Slogan „vom
Fahrrad in die Bar, vom Büro zum Workout!“ auch so gut. Einen aktiven
Lifestyle mit entsprechender Bekleidung auszudrücken, die modisch und
sportlich zugleich ist, wird in Zukunft immer wichtiger werden. Ebenso
wie die beiden Punkte Nachhaltigkeit und Funktion. Wir sehen hier weltweit
einen erhöhten Bedarf innerhalb der Branche. Deswegen arbeiten wir
in unserer Kollektion auch mit innovativen, technischen Materialien, die
wir im Vorfeld von Sportlern entsprechend testen lassen.
Denken Sie, dass ein Mix aus Funktion, Design und Style generell
die Bekleidung der Zukunft stark beeinflussen wird? Das moderne
Alltagsleben verlangt nach einer sportlichen, modischen Bekleidung, in
der man sich gut bewegen kann. Dabei kommt es nicht unbedingt auf die
Haltbarkeit eines einzelnen Kleidungsstückes an, sondern eher darauf, inwieweit
es sich kombinieren und verwandeln lässt. Und natürlich darauf,
ob wir darin gut aussehen. Da wir heute und in Zukunft ständig in Bewegung
sind, muss die Bekleidung, die wir tragen, mit uns mithalten können,
nicht nur im sportlichen Sinn, sondern auch im alltäglichen.
Active Wear bestimmt nicht mehr nur das Gym, sondern hält auch
stark Einzug in unseren Alltag. Wie definiert ihr den Trend Athleisure?
Athleisure ist in unseren Augen viel mehr als nur ein momentaner
Trend. Vielmehr lässt sich damit ein aktiver Lifestyle perfekt mit dem urbanen
Leben vereinbaren ohne auf den entsprechenden Style zu verzichten.
Für Peak Performance bedeutet das, dass die Grenzen zwischen Mode
und Sportswear immer mehr verschwimmen. Momentan gibt es einen
riesigen Sportswear Trend, der von der Jugendszene gepusht wird. Diese
ist letztendlich auch dafür verantwortlich, dass Athleisure so populär geworden
ist und in Zukunft noch stärker werden wird. Wir sind von dieser
gegenwärtigen Bewegung überzeugt und werden auch weiterhin unsere
Kollektionen danach ausrichten.
Was muss der Fachhandel nächsten Sommer 2018 im Laden haben?
Hihglight der neuen Sportswear-Kollektion ist die Unit Jacke für Sie und
Ihn – ein cooler, lässiger Sommer-Look. Die Command Jacke ist ein gutes
Beispiel für die Experimentierfreudigkeit des Designteams in Richtung
Urban Lifestyle. Beim Einfärben wurde die Jacke so behandelt, dass am
Ende ein intensiver Blauton entstand, zusammen mit einer glänzenden,
zerknitterten Oberfläche.

How important is the topic urban lifestyle in sports fashion by now?
It gets more and more important and our mantra „from bike to bar, from
work to workout!“ fits very well. Urban fashion and living an active lifestyle
are more synonymous than ever, and so is sustainability and functionality.
We can see a steady and rapidly increasing demand from the global market
here. In this context, Peak Performance as a brand, who’s got over 30 years
of experience within the field of performance wear and fashion, are now advancing
progressively. We’re working with highly technical fabrics and our
clothes have been developed for and tested on active people for a long time.
From your point of view, will a mixture of function, design and
style influence future apparel? Modern everyday life calls for an active,
fashionable wardrobe in which performance is important and isn’t defined
by a garment’s durability, but by its capacity to adapt and transform – and
of course, look great – all at once. If we’re constantly on the move, the clothes
we wear need to keep up with us, not only in our active, but also in daily
urban life.
Active Wear isn’t only trendy in the gym, it’s even popular in our
daily life nowadays. How do you define the trend Athleisure? Athleisure
is actually more than a trend and makes it easy to combine an active and
urban lifestyle without ever compromising in style. For Peak Performance
it means, that the borders between sportswear and fashion become blurred
more and more. There is a huge sportswear trend right now and it’s in the
youth culture, where trends are coming and passing first. They introduced
these active-fashion way of style to come and rest. So within the nearest
future, we see that the athleisure trend will strengthen more and more - we
strongly believe in this contemporary movement and Peak Performance will
continue to build the current momentum.
What’s a must have for retailers in S/S 2018? Highlight of the sportswear
collection is the Unit Jacket for both her and him - a nice and slick summer
style, with a two-layer fabric and a detachable hood. The Command Jacket
is a great example of the design team’s experimental urban approach. It’s a
garment dye, which means that the whole jacket is put in the dying machine,
where the material shrinks and transforms. The out-come ist a beautiful,
intense blue color and a shiny, wrinkled surface.
