Einst holten Designer die miefigen Ökoschlappen scharenweise auf
den Laufsteg. Seitdem sind Birkenstocks aus der Modewelt nicht mehr
wegzudenken. Jetzt könnte Crocs für eine neue Trendwelle sorgen. Denn
der schottische Stardesigner Christopher Kane hat den löchrigen Gummischuhen
ein modisches Update verpasst. Und das kann sich sehen
lassen...
Die Kollaboration zwischen Crocs und dem Shootingstar der Fashionszene
Christopher Kane hatte im letzten Sommer für ordentlich Aufsehen auf
der Londoner Fashion Week gesorgt. Er schickte seine Models kurzerhand
mit seinen aufgepeppten Glitzer-Crocs auf den Laufsteg. Wer etwas auf
sich hält, trägt jetzt zu Plisseerock und Tubedress Crocs mit auffälliger
Schmuckstein-Deko. Die limitierte Sonderedition von Crocs und Christopher
Kane gibt es seit diesem Sommer in Marmoroptik mit dicken
Klunkern. „Als Christopher Kane uns die Möglichkeit gab, mit ihm zusammen
eine eigene Sonderlinie zu entwickeln, waren wir total aufgeregt“,
so Michelle Poole, Senior Vice President Product & Merchandising Crocs.
„Die Zusammenarbeit mit Christopher hat uns darin bestärkt, dass Crocs
absolut relevant in der heutigen Modewelt sind. Mit Hilfe dieser außergewöhnlichen
Partnerschaft gelingt es uns, etwas Gewöhnliches außergewöhnlich
erscheinen zu lassen, aus dem Alltäglichen wird plötzlich ein
begehrtes Luxusobjekt. Das sind im übrigen auch zwei der wichtigsten
Designmerkmale von Kane.“
Christopher Kane dazu: „Ich arbeite ständig mit ungewöhnlichen Dingen
und neuen, spannenden Kombinationen. Ich wollte dem klassischen
Crocs meinen eigenen Stil und meine eigene DNA verpassen, um am
Ende etwas ganz Besonderes zu schaffen. Die Marmoroptik hat in meinen
Augen etwas sehr natürliches, ich denke am besten trägt man den Crocs
zum Abendkleid oder eben zur Jeans, die Kombination mit der Schmuckstein-Deko
bringt einen Hauch von Luxus in den doch alltäglichen Look.
In meinen Augen zählen Crocs zu den bequemsten Schuhen überhaupt,
ich kann auch gar nicht verstehen, dass man sie als hässlich und klobig
abstempelt. Ich finde gerade diese Merkmale machen den Schuh so
besonders.“
Die Crocs Limited Edition in Kooperation mit dem Designer gibt es in
Marmoroptik mit Schmuckstein-Deko, aber auch in gedeckten Farben ab
luxuriösen 325 Euro.

Some time ago, many designers brought the slippers on the catwalk. Since
then, Birkenstock shoes are a constant part of the fashion scene. Now, it
is possible that Crocs will become the new trend, because the Scottish star
designer Christopher Kane gave the perforated rubber shoes a fashion
update; and the result is impressing.
The collaboration with Christopher Kane, the shooting star of the fashion
scene, stirred up a lot of excitement at the last year’s London Fashion Week.
Without further ado, he sent his models on the runway wearing jazzed up,
sparkling Crocs. Those who want to be fashionable combine a pleated skirt
or a tube dress with Crocs decorated with eye-catching gemstones. From
this summer, the limited special edition of Crocs and Christopher Kane is
available in marbled design with a lot of bling-bling. Michelle Poole, Senior
Vice President Product & Merchandising of Crocs, says, ‘When Christopher
Kane accepted to develop an own special edition with us, we were totally
excited. The cooperation with Christopher reassured us in our conviction
that Crocs are absolutely relevant in the current fashion world. Thanks
to this exceptional partnership, we are able to give an ordinary thing an
extraordinary appearance; an everyday item is suddenly becoming a
sought-after luxury object. Besides, these are typical design features of Mr
Kane.’
Christopher Kane explains, ‘I am constantly working with extraordinary
things and new, exciting combinations. My intention was to give
the classical Crocs my personal style and my own DNA, in order to create
something very special in the end. The marbled look seems very natural,
in my opinion. I recommend wearing these Crocs together with an evening
dress or simply with jeans. The design with the gemstone embellishment,
adds a touch of luxury to the daily look. In my view, Crocs are among the
most comfortable shoes on the market. I cannot understand why people
say they are ugly and chunky. These features are just the reasons why the
shoes are so special, in my opinion.’
The Crocs Limited Edition is available in marbled design with gemstone
